Arrested Development. This award winning television
series was cancelled three seasons in, just as they were getting more and more
hilarious. You can just imagine my disappointment. This is what happens when great
shows change timeslots way too many times. Anyhow, if you like Curb Your Enthusiasm,
you'll like this series. All three seasons are available for rental from zip.ca
(Rent DVDs online with Zip.ca

and for purchase at Amazon.ca. |
Blackadder - The Complete Collector's Set. Best known as Mr.Bean,
Rowan Atkinson's first starring role on television was that of Edmund Blackadder in The Black Adder ;
The conniving, embittered Duke of Edinburgh fighting to possition himself ever higher in the
heirarchy of british royalty in the late 1400's. This successful series then spawned three other
history based comedies, again staring Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder's progeny though several generations,
all bearing the same name, Edmund Blackadder, up to the second world war. Fans of british comedy will
love this boxed set. This DVD boxed set is available from Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and from BBC Canada at the following link :

The Count Of Monte Cristo. This excellent french television mini-serries
starring french actor Gerard Depardieu is available in Canada from Archambault.ca and in the Unites States from Amazon.com. I believe this is the superior interpretation of the novel. And those
who don't speak french need not worry - It is subtitled. |

in a hole near an old farmhouse, who he befriends. This subtitled DVD is available from Archambault.ca, Amazon.ca and Amazon.com. |
Jean De Florette/Manon Of The Springs. My very favorite french dramas, these two remakes feature

Kids In The Hall - The Complete Series. Canadian comedy at it's best. This briliant quintet had me in stitches with their
surrealistic and occasionally daring comedy skits thought-out the 90's. This 20 disc megaset is available from
from Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, Archambault.ca, and A&E at the following link : A&E The Kids In The Hall: Complete Series DVD Megaset |

Lord Of The Rings - Extended Version Trilogy. This
12 disc boxed set includes an incredible amount of bonus material including hours of cut footage, reinstated into

The Mad Adventures Of Rabbi Jacob. This Golden Globe nominated french comedy hit
features the late Louis De Funes as a bigoted french businessman that is forced to
disguise himself as a rabbi to avoid being caught by arab assassins, the french police

It is currently available from Archambault.ca under the original title, "Les Aventures
de Rabbi Jacob", with english subtitles. The english version is scheduled for release in
April 2004 according to Amazon.ca and Amazon.com. |

This Is Daniel Cook. I generally find childrens programs to be annoying and
contrived. But there are two Canadian television programs that I find entertaining, one being Nanalan and
the other being "This is Daniel Cook" - Whose red headed host, to my surprise, appeared on CTV News during the
2005 election coverage and then just recently, Oprah. Daniel has now expanded to several other television
projects but many episodes from his first television series were compiled on several DVDs, that i've listed
on a special kids dvd page, that can be accessed by clicking here. |
